In response to the market’s interest in lower cost coinage materials, but retaining the weight associated with the “feel” of money, Jarden Zinc Products developed an aluminum clad zinc product. The zinc is sandwiched between two aluminum surfaces. Weight is reduced by the replacement of some zinc material with lighter aluminum.
