Zinc ingots are used to charge the furnaces for casting.  In addition to the ingots, Jarden also remelts the zinc process scrap generated in our operations.
We cast and roll over 120,000 MT of finished zinc strip annually.
Master coils are rolled to gauge on this four high mill per customer specifications.
Our slitting department operates as a service center for our customers reducing the width of the solid zinc strip to our customer’s optimal width for further processing.
The blanking of zinc strip into coin blanks is done on our high speed presses.
Web scrap from the blanking operation at the press is baled and returned to our furnace for recycling.
Copper is electroplated onto the zinc coin blanks on Jarden's oblique barrel plating line.
A burnishing operation is available for coin blank specifications requiring added luster.
