Products PRODUCTS Zinc Strip As a well-respected and established North American producer of solid zinc strip and zinc-based products, we can ensure that you will get high quality zinc materials for your project. Whether you are using our zinc in architecture, galvanic cathodic protection or coinage, you will receive top-notch customer service from beginning to end. Our capabilities in alloying and plating, along with our technical expertise in finding solutions, will help in designing and improving your product. We have the capacity to cast and roll 120,000 metric tons of finished solid zinc strip each year. We use only 99.995% pure ASTM special high-grade zinc to craft our alloys. Our quality control technicians continuously monitor a variety of metallurgical, chemical, and process parameters. Architectural Zinc strip produced at Jarden Zinc Products has a higher degree of flexibility and formability making it an ideal fit for traditional and modern aesthetics in structures. The natural blue-gray patina of zinc, in addition to a variety of our other color enhancements, can be used to adapt to a wide range of building materials and the surrounding environment. Zinc, being an element with high corrosion resistance, is a popular choice for outdoor building materials. Coinage Nearly 300 billion coin blanks made by Jarden Zinc Products have been released into circulation in the United States and various countries around the world. These countries include, but are not limited to, Canada, Brazil, the Philippines, and Indonesia. Using our proprietary technology for electroplating, we can plate copper, nickel, tin, brass or bronze on zinc and/or steel coins. ZincSecure™ is one of many new products developed by our New Product Introduction (NPI) team. These coins, which are produced through a specialized, patent pending technology, have a distinct electromagnetic signature (EMS) which is an important security feature in the coinage industry. Tested by the European Vending Association (EVA) and independent mints, coins made with ZincSecure™ have the potential to substitute expensive solid alloys and bank notes. Zinc’s self-annealing property helps in making the coining process cost effective. The tools required for stamping last longer due to zinc being a soft and pliable metal. Galvanic Cathodic Protection Jarden Zinc Products is the leader in galvanic cathodic protection systems for concrete structures subjected to chloride induced corrosion from deicing salts and marine waters. Our brands, LifeJacket®, LifeAnode™, LifeDowel™ and LifePanel®, rehabilitate and repair corroding concrete structures such as bridges and highways. All our systems are self-powered, maintenance-free, self-regulating, easy-to-install and are designed to extend the life of the structure. Industrial Solid zinc strip from Jarden Zinc Products is excellent material for making automotive fuses. The zinc strip has the same electrical conductivity as 70/30 brass which makes it ideal for low volt and low amp current carrying applications. In addition, solid zinc strip can be used as a counterpoise grounding material to protect electrical transmission lines from power surges during lightning strikes. Zinc strip has good shielding properties against Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Radio Frequency Interference (RFI), and electrical conductivity. Zinc’s high formability can be used to design and shape zinc strip into a variety of gauges to fit the shielding systems in electrical circuits. Another application for our alloys is its use in printed circuit board material. The alloys have the same thermal expansion coefficient as the popular printed circuit board material which eliminates solder joint failure at the connection point.
